A Very Birthday Weekend.

Well, my last year in my twenties has finally arrived...

The celebration started on Thursday with the annual trip to Jalisco's with my college girlfriends. This year proved to be the best yet when my dear friend Ali suggested I open her card right after her arrival. Low and behold, the card was signed by Ali, Brett, Lucy (their dog) and Baby Schlameus. This was her way of telling me she was pregnant! I was so shocked (although I had a hunch) and so happy for her and her husband, Brett. I asked if the others knew and she told me, "No, but you're about to tell them. Read the card out loud!" What a fun birthday surprise and certainly something I will always remember.

The festivities continued on Friday when Brad took me to El Gaucho for dinner. It was my first visit to El Gaucho and it did not disappoint. We feasted on delicious food and wine and reflected on all of the changes that have taken place over the last year of our lives. What a wonderful year it has been. I am so happy to have such a wonderful husband to spend all of the coming years with.

Saturday brought more celebration, this time with the family. When asked what type of cake I wanted I said angel food as usual but volunteered to make it myself, from scratch! I recently began using my Kitchen-Aid stand mixer and have fallen in love with it. The cake was somewhat of an adventure but turned out okay. Next time around I will "fold in the flour" a bit more carefully but for a first try, it wasn't too bad. As usual, my family cracked me up. Love spending time with the fam!

We rounded out the birthday weekend with the Seahawks game on Sunday. While a bit colder then the last game I attended, it was still great weather. That can't last too much longer... We took the bus down and tailgated with friends pre-game then headed in to witness another Seahawks win. The day wouldn't be complete without visiting Jenn and Rog upstairs as they worked their butts off to support Gracie and her gymnastics career. The whole store is gymnastics parents, dedication!

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful birthday wishes. Here's hoping that 29 brings as many blessings as 28 did.

Just had to share...

We planned on having a slide show at the wedding. It didn't happen. However, while preparing for the slide show we came across some very cute pictures. I found these two particularly adorable considering we are both in the exact same pose around the exact same age.

Some pictures from the honeymoon...

Although we went on our honeymoon in July, I thought I would share a few more pictures of our trip. What a fabulous time it was!

Brad didn't want me to bring my engagement ring on the trip but I wore my bands religiously!

They warmed up to us (Brad) later in the week. So long as you fed them crackers off a rock they were willing to be friends.

I don't really like birds and I was scared of these ones. They bit me! (Look at my face, do I look like I am enjoying it?)

Dinner at the French restaurant. It was an amazing meal!

They had a Michael Jackson tribute show one of the nights and the impersonator looked so much like him that I had to get a close up...

This was draped across our door when we checked in. I thought it was special until I looked around and saw that pretty much everyone at the resort was either on their honeymoon or celebrating their anniversary.

A Twinners Visit

We had the opportunity to visit with the Twinners on Thursday night and were blown away at how big they have gotten! Deacon weighed in at 5 lbs 10 oz and Avi at 5 lbs 1.7 oz. (Avi lost a little weight after her PDA surgery but is back on track now.)

When we arrived in the NICU little Avigail was squirming around in her crib, attempting to wake up in time for a change and her dinner. This was quite a surprise as she is usually sawing logs whenever we visit her. What a cutie.

The D-Man was still snoozing but eventually started stretching his little arms and legs, yawning and blinking at us. Like a true Johnson, it takes him a little time to wake up.

We took a bunch of pictures during our visit, enjoy! Can you believe they will be 3 months old on Wednesday?! Hopefully one or both of the babies will be headed home this month!

Shower Time!

This weekend we hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Tami. The original shower was planned to take place on July 11th but the Twinners decided they just couldn't wait for their October due date and decided to come early (7/7.) With that, we had to scratch the original plan and reschedule for Sunday, September 27th. What a perfect day it turned out to be! Seriously, we could not have asked for better weather... While the girls were busy with the shower, brother-in-laws Brad and Tyler went to the Seahawks game. Enjoy the pics from Tami's special day!

P.S. We hope to have the babies home in 5-6 weeks! Lucky for them, their mama received LOTS of wonderful gifts from family and friends.
