A sleepover for Colie...

This week we were happy to have our good friend Lucy Schlameus stay with us for a few nights while her parents are off traveling the world. The girls are having an absolute blast with one another. Colie appreciates having another dog in the house and they have taken to chasing and barking at Milo whenever he makes a rare appearance.

The ladies are sleeping in Lucy's "condo" (AKA - huge crate) at night and are enjoying girl talk late into the night. They wake up bright and early, ready to eat breakfast and get some play time in before we head off to work. In the evenings they have been enjoying LONG walks together. At least a few miles every night!

More Shredding for Colie

She can't get enough of Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred. Apparently she got her love of working out from her father...I don't have it.

"Put me in coach!"

I was just thinking that I had nothing to post, expect more stories about the pets, when my father sent Brad and I an email that said "Brad, this is very typical of Kimmy's choice of clothing as a child. She's always been her own person!" and included the following picture:

While there isn't a good story or a fab update to go along with this post, I thought that my fellow blog followers would get a kick out of it. Lord knows, us bloggers like just about any post that includes a picture. Feed the addiction!

An entire night of sleep...

I'll make this short and sweet. Last night was the FIRST night in weeks that Brad and I have been able to sleep through the entire night. We don't even have a baby! It was the first time Colie has slept all night in her crate without waking us up to the tune of barking. Thank God! I know we are in for a world of sleepless nights once we have a child but seriously...that is one of the many reasons we don't have any right now. When the alarm went off at 6:45 a.m. this morning I was so confused. At first I thought the phone was ringing because it couldn't possibly be our alarm...we hadn't woken up to our alarms since Colie started her barking fiasco weeks ago. To our surprise, we had slept the entire night without one peep from the little one! Is this "someones" way of telling us we aren't ready to have children yet? If it is, they're dead on. Ha!

Side Note: When she was waking us up we would both get really annoyed with her. However, the very second we saw her all was forgiven... Wow, we sure are suckers for cuteness. I posted a few pictures from this winter so you can see what I mean.

Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred

My friend Brooke encouraged me to get "Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred" DVD from Amazon. (Jillian Michael's is a trainer on the Biggest Loser.) Today I finally cracked it open and "shredded." Colie and Milo must think they have a few pounds to lose before the wedding too. They both jumped on my workout mat and ran around the house during the entire workout. Below is a picture of Colie "shredding" on my mat. (Milo chose not to be pictured as he is embarrassed about his weight.)

A belated birthday blog for Colie.

Having a dog has certainly been an experience. If you have children, you may not want to read on as I'm going to talk about my dog as if it were a child. We don't have human children yet, forgive us.

Colie celebrated her first birthday on December 26th, 2008. Just like anyone else who has a birthday close to Christmas, she got the shaft on presents. Lucky for her, she was spoiled rotten by Santa! Not to mention, she was given a belated birthday present from her best friend, Lucy Schlameus. (Don't worry cousins, you are my besties too!) While Lucy was unable to deliver it herself, Auntie Ali brought it over and we put it on. This is Colie's walking sweatshirt. She loves it!

In addition to loving a good walk, Colie has strong passion for "loofah dogs." For those of you who don't know what a loofah dog is (which I hope is most people...) they are these funny stuffed animal dogs with really big smiles. They stand about 12 inches tall (if you get the medium sized ones) and they have a squeaker in their head and another in their feet. These toys are great with one exception, they can easily be torn apart. Colie has three; "Tuxedo, Elfie and Hearts on Fire" and two of them have already had to go into surgery multiple times! While I stitch them up Colie sits and looks on like a worried little mama.

A big cheesy smile!

Happy Birthday Brake! (AKA - Brooke & Jake)

Friday was a good time had by all. It started off by meeting Brooke, Ali and Brett at my fave Mexican restaurant, Jalisco's and then dashing off to die BierStube near Greenlake for some more fun.

Things were hoppin' at Jalisco's so all five of us ended up cramming in to a booth together. It was a really romantic night for Brad and Brett as they sat next to one another in the little booth. Before Ali and Brett arrived, Brooke and I had decided to share what we lovingly called a "gigo margarita." They are not on the menu, you gotta ask for them!

When Ali arrived we decided to share it three ways and just ask for a third straw. Some where there was a breakdown in the communication and instead of bringing another straw the waiter brought us another shot for our drink! Instead of bringing it to us in a shot glass he just brought the whole half gallon of tequila out and poured it right on in. Not realizing the miscommunication just yet, the girls and I thought he was just being nice and we cheered him on with Ali shouting "Happy Birthday Brooke" in Spanish. Moments later we realized our mistake when a third straw never appeared. Oh well, a shot is better than a straw any day!

After dinner we were off to the bar. It was packed when we got there so we had to hover over tables in order to land outselves a spot to camp out at. As the night continued on a bunch of familiar faces joined and some new faces too. Even our prego buddies, Jillian and Stacy, toasted with a non-alcoholic beer. I love it!
