Second Annual Baseball Stadium Trip
September 16th - 20th, 2009
Some of you may remember that last year Brad and I started a tradition to visit a new MLB baseball stadium every year. We kicked it off in 2008 by visiting Wrigley in Chicago. This year we continued the tradition by visiting Fenway in Boston! We headed out on Wednesday, September 16th, and spent Wednesday and Thursday in Boston (Thursday was the game) and then took a bus to NYC on Friday to spend the weekend with friends, Tracy and Doug.
Although we were in Boston for a short period of time we managed to make the most of it by getting a "Boston in a Day" type tour by riding the ducks.

After seeing the sites in 80 minutes, we headed off to grab a Boston sub at Sam La Grassa's, Union Oyster House for oysters and then Fenway for Red Sox baseball. The stadium is awesome (I still lean toward Wrigley.) Although the Sox ended up losing we had an amazing time. Fenway is quite a historical stadium and will be celebrating 100 years in 2014!

2nd Annual Baseball Stadium Trip!
The Green Monster
We woke up Friday, packed our bags and bussed to NYC where we ate good food, drank good drinks and did yet another whirlwind city tour led by friends, Doug and Tracy. We walked for hours on Saturday afternoon; starting in the Upper East Side and ending at the Staten Island Ferry docks. (There was a subway ride or two in there but we did do a TON of walking!) Thanks to our tour guides we walked through Central Park, stood in Times Square, visited Grand Central Station, ate lunch in Bryant Park had drinks in the West Village, explored Ground Zero and waved to Lady Liberty from the shoreline.
Grabbing some drinks with Doug and Tracy before dinner.

A random statue (in the subway) that I was obsessed with. No idea why.
It was a wonderful weekend. Although it is never fun to say good bye to friends and new cities, it is always good to get home!
